Camping in the Wood

(Still under construction!!!still need my hubby the old boy scout to add more) Planning camping for family with children may not be the same with camping without. The preparation will be different and many other things to consider. It is not about providing comfort like the one they get at home. It is camping in the wood. The point is, 'Discomfort' is mainly chunk of its experience. Food to the kids need to be sufficient. while teaching them to cook with minimal resources, ample supply is the biggest consideration. It is about having fun with the nature.  Naturally, when the campsite is by the river, most of the time they are in the water. The only time they come up from the water, when we know they are hungry and get the 'refill' just enough to get into the water again..Food is served at breakfast, lunch but on demand. My family love to cook. Cooking in the wood will be like 'main masak masak' and will be fun too. All the food supply are dry and are mostly

The greatest gift - my beautiful kids

Dear love, I am thankful. When some have none, at least I have you while individuals are measured based on their looks and intelligence I have to remind myself, don't look for perfections in you you are just perfect to my dream, alhamdullilah! Some life sketch simply painted but pleasant Bringing all the colors.. Between rainbow and the pouring rain Telling all kinds stories happiness & sadness Sometimes I get carried away with the joy expected all the way  thru Overlooking my role to be nurturing for more potential in you There are time I was not sure what to do Questioning why things are not going through Searching for all the mistakes  Making our relationship at stakes  I must remind myself The gifts I received are so exclusive A privilege. I need to uphold close to my heart Accepting you .. just like you The unfulfilled expectations not in you but my own. Telling myself, my gifts I must treasure Like no other pleasure I

Bread & Butter Pudding

Image
buttery..  lovely taste... My Bread & Butter Pudding recipe has evolved through out the years.. I am not sure how this recipe developed for the first time. But I know a good bread pudding comes with the sauce.  Because it is family favourite, and sometimes requested by friends & lately students, I probably have made more than hundreds time. Anyway, the best part is, I cant say it is the same old recipe.. worst of all, I don't have the exact measurement. That can frustrate some.. My 'agak-agaklah' can be irritating to those who hope their bread pudding to turn out right the first time they make it.  Look at the top pix. At 3 different  occasion, they looked so different. different design too! Just to show life should not be too rigid and food should not look the same & dull.   Bread Pudding (all ingredients are only my estimation) 1 big loaf of bread 2 egss 50 gm sugar 2 tsp vanilla 2 cups of fresh milk 100 gm butter water  Rai

Chicken Kurma on Sunday..

Chicken Kurma When I was small, Kurma Ayam was a dish I thought I would never able to cook. looked so complicated. Standard Uwan Loyah and Ngah Nabah, Only my grandma and an aunt who could  do such a thing. So I looked forward to any wedding to get the taste. This was not my dad's fav either. So understood, mom didnt cook this dish often except kenduri... I fell in love with Kurma ayam as I got tired of cooking chicken curry - too spicy and thick. But Kurma that I like is mild and I love the combinations of coconut milk and fresh milk with all the colorful veggies.  My first Kurma was made when I was in Crete, Nebraska. My first year thousands miles away from home. I looked for recipe and had to make the spices from scratch.. really had to pound the cumin and some other spices ( cant remember) but it turned out great! for that moment it was superb what ever cooked and presented on the plate to meet the appetite of hunger missing-home ladies..  Today, I had to attend a w
