welcoming new born - preparing first time parents & Melenggang Perut the Malay Baby Shower (no gifts) for my Sis & the Shopping list to Welcome the Newborn

Today is finally the day to have the "melenggang perut' day for my sis who is expecting her first baby this coming November. Ideally, it is normally done on the 7th month. Unfortunately, big sisters are all occupied with personal & professional comitment.(sorry ayah emak..bukan sengaja melewatkan...).

The simple ceremony will be performed by our auntie, What we need for the occasion:
  1. Kain Batek sarong 7 helai
  2. Bunga 7 jenis
  3. Setangi
  4. Minyak wangi
  5. Limau 3 biji
  6. Kelapa 
So the best part is, we are going to have the pulut kuning & kari telur - everybody's favourite dish and to be shared with people at the mosque tonight after maghrib..InsyaAllah.

  13. bedding set - all 100% cotton, comforter sets (good for travelling) Pillows not for head but to support the body 
  14. Baby cot is encouraged - buy only once for all other kids - good to train baby sleep on their own still in the same room - Bedding pad not necessary as malaysia is hot. moquito net may be necesary..

Prelude I thought I was not prepared  The book is written to help people prepare for Haj journey.Who are we to say we are not ready. When it is fated and planned for us, There it is coming unexpectedly. No Expectation This journey was a gift - unplanned unexpected. It really came to us by surprise. Very much beyond expectation. That was the year we had Eid celebrated yearly at the Kulliyyah. Suhailah told me, her husband wanted to go for haj this year so she submitted the form. I heard and thought of it but deep down knew, it was not possible.  But as I got back to the office, I thought of responding to the email inviting IIUM staff to apply for Haj trip that year. It was a normal busy days at the Department, I filled the form and requested my PA Ika to find time when she could send the form to the office of the mosque. It was passed over due. Bread & Butter Pudding

buttery..  lovely taste... My Bread & Butter Pudding recipe has evolved through out the years.. I am not sure how this recipe developed for the first time. But I know a good bread pudding comes with the sauce.  Because it is family favourite, and sometimes requested by friends & lately students, I probably have made more than hundreds time. Anyway, the best part is, I cant say it is the same old recipe.. worst of all, I don't have the exact measurement. That can frustrate some.. My 'agak-agaklah' can be irritating to those who hope their bread pudding to turn out right the first time they make it.  Look at the top pix.
