A Poem for Mak & Ayah

Life is tough without you.
Every single day, I wish you're around
Taking care of us and others
It is rough to go thru
Facing all the things without a clue


Sometime I regret 
For I am not being fair 
That you're mostly remembered
When I am feeling despair


Most people found it strange
For making things difficult as it seemed
None exactly knew 
I am doing them for you..just the way you would do


Today.
I am with such a great relief 
Alhamdulillah. I thank Allah for the strengths
I thank Allah for the courage
For easing things out for me
For the support & love I got from people around
Despite all - we managed to get 'em thru 
For the doa, the compliments received


All are because Allah has granted my doa, my wishes
most priceless - Unite the family regardless 


It's the best gift for mak & ayah
May both of you receive the barakah 
For the good things happened 
Thank you for the greatest asset you have left for us
To be shared and remembered forever..


We missed you and always will..

Prelude I thought I was not prepared  The book is written to help people prepare for Haj journey.Who are we to say we are not ready. When it is fated and planned for us, There it is coming unexpectedly. No Expectation This journey was a gift - unplanned unexpected. It really came to us by surprise. Very much beyond expectation. That was the year we had Eid celebrated yearly at the Kulliyyah. Suhailah told me, her husband wanted to go for haj this year so she submitted the form. I heard and thought of it but deep down knew, it was not possible.  But as I got back to the office, I thought of responding to the email inviting IIUM staff to apply for Haj trip that year. It was a normal busy days at the Department, I filled the form and requested my PA Ika to find time when she could send the form to the office of the mosque. It was passed over due. Bread & Butter Pudding

buttery..  lovely taste... My Bread & Butter Pudding recipe has evolved through out the years.. I am not sure how this recipe developed for the first time. But I know a good bread pudding comes with the sauce.  Because it is family favourite, and sometimes requested by friends & lately students, I probably have made more than hundreds time. Anyway, the best part is, I cant say it is the same old recipe.. worst of all, I don't have the exact measurement. That can frustrate some.. My 'agak-agaklah' can be irritating to those who hope their bread pudding to turn out right the first time they make it.  Look at the top pix. At 3 different  occasion, they looked so different. different design too!
